Pumpkin seed

In a ‘Kakai’ pumpkin from our winter storage two seeds had started sprouting. Rather optimistically, I’d say.

Hi Jandra – I just popped in from Colour it Green’s blog to say hello. When I checked my pumpkin store a couple of days ago I found that the two large green pumpkins (Moschata I think) are going slightly soft at the top so need cooking to save the. Are yours storing OK?

Hi there! I’m sorry but somehow your comment seems to have been queued without me being notified, so I completely overlooked it. The pumpkins are storing all right, but I am also starting to lose them now. Which is pretty much normal in my experience. I’m trying to sart processing them, pressure canning and freezing. The Kakai (naked seeded ones) seem to be storing better than the Uchiki Kuri’s (Hokkaido type).
